I've made an interim update on the way to the next version of the site software. Most of the changes have actually been made today, and weren't part of a specific planned update, so I decided to make them an update of their own.

The time spend in the skin engine has been drastically reduced, with pages loading between 20 and 50% faster than before. There are still some changes to be made here, and another 10% increase is quite conceivable for the next version (Paradox templating engine 1.0.0), the net result is - Obviously - Much faster page loading times. It was never particularly slow, I just happened to realise that I can do it faster. Much faster. There are a couple of additions internally for those who actually get to use the Paradox engine, but those are pretty minor and won't really matter until 1.0, which is around the corner.

A halfway fix to the login/logout bug is in place, in that there are now only half the number of bars. Unfortunately, this is a side-effect of having a good engine. It could be patch-fixed in any of at least three ways, but I like none of them, so I'm holding off on fixing it further.

Feature-wise, there are new BBCodes, and fixes to others:

• All tags should now be case-insensitive, meaning that an img tag is the same as an IMG or imG tag.
  
• Bold, italic and underline tags will no longer work without a closing tag.
  
• If you use single quotes in the "to" section of a quote tag, a double quote will no longer cut off the string.
  
• "s" and "strike" can now be used for the strikethrough BBCode.
  
• "left" and "right" tags have been added for aligning text.
  
• A horizontal line can be added with the new "hr" tag.
  
• You can now use spoiler tags to produce a rather stylish spoiler effect.
