» ArloriaNET IRC Network :: Forum :: LXXQTJMN :: CyberNations General Discussion :: CyberNations General :: New domain for LXXQTJMN
Worth noting that I've now moved to phase two of this (There are probably three or four loosely-defined phases). Phase one was merely owning the domain name xq-hq.org. Phase two has been writing the site so that accessing it via *.xq-hq.org will cause all links to point to www.xq-hq.org/ rather than www.arloria.net. This is actually harder than it sounds, because we use absolute URLs (i.e. They point to www.arloria.net/register, not just /register), but has now been done. The added bonus is that should you really wish to, you could have two accounts - A regular and CN account. Why you'd do this, I have no idea, but it's there and it's permitted.
Any additional phases will be for rendering site-specific content. The site redesign, for example, was originally to be a separate skin for xq-hq.org users (Hence "XQ" in the forum index). The skin just happened to suck much less than the grey and dreary theme we were using, so it got replaced. We now use the xq-hq.org theme by default. Win for us?
The obvious use of this would be to add links to the embassies, of course. Additionally, we could add bookmarks to the top for xq-hq.org users to direct them straight to the CN sections of the forums. Ideas are welcome, I can pretty much go anywhere with it as long as I have ideas as to where to go.

Lulolwen is a moron

The site itself will remain the same, and registering on one will be registering on both, posts will appear on both sites (Because they'll still be the same site) but a few changes we want to make based on the domain name used means that we need that new domain to start with.
Just a heads up for those who expected one URL but were given another.
